In-Room Visual Travel Itinerary
I worked with an upscale hotel chain to understand and create an optimal visual experience for a guest staying. An important note, was that in these stays a guest's time is largely already scheduled with limited "free" time. An emphasis was placed on presenting the when, where, and what with opportunities for additional upsells for revenue and helping to share information about the hotel.
The guest is welcomed with personalized information surrounding the specifics of their trip.
Detail of an activity with details, media, and directions. Additional options to highlight upsell opportunities are presented that enable the guest to make related purchases.
Display of related photos and videos.
One of the key areas are views of the daily itinerary. Given that the average guest only stays 3 days, the view is simplified to display today and tomorrow with additional controls for upcoming days. The focus should be on the immediate time period.
One key indicator was the idea of finding activities when there were gaps in the schedule. The ability to find experiences in gaps of time was introduced as a way of keeping the day going.

Discovering the nearby area helps to highlight not only local history but other favorites and unique activities. The display focused on elements highlighting local history and then broke out multiple categories nearby.
Categories and their subsequent activities are highlighted as part of a geographical area represented on a map. The map highlights the location of specific destinations based on proximity to the hotel.
And important quality was the ability to make impulse or activity-related purchases.
